100% Synthetic, Zero Compromise
PVC Decking in Central Pennsylvania
The most weather-resistant decking material on the market. Full PVC boards contain no wood fiber at all — making them the ideal choice for pool surrounds, covered porches, shaded yards, and any spot in Central PA where moisture is a year-round reality.
What Is PVC Decking?
PVC decking is made entirely from polyvinyl chloride — the same durable polymer used in plumbing pipes and exterior trim. Unlike composite decking, which blends wood fiber with plastic, full PVC boards contain no organic material at all. That single difference is what makes PVC the most moisture-resistant decking you can install. Water has nothing to absorb into, nothing to swell, and nothing for mold or mildew to feed on.
For Central Pennsylvania homeowners, that translates to a deck that performs consistently year after year — through wet springs, humid summers, and freeze-thaw winters. PVC boards are also lighter than composite, easier on the structure of older homes, and carry some of the longest fade and stain warranties in the decking industry.

Where PVC Makes the Most Sense
PVC isn't the right answer for every deck — but for certain projects, nothing else comes close. If your deck spends significant time in moisture or shade, or sits directly above living space, full PVC is the material we typically recommend. It costs more than composite upfront, but eliminates an entire category of long-term problems.
Pool Surrounds
Constant splashing, chlorine, and standing water destroy wood and stress even premium composite over time. PVC shrugs it all off — no swelling, no warping, no mold blooms between the boards.
Covered Porches & Rooftop Decks
Where shade keeps boards damp longer or rooftop framing limits weight, PVC's zero-absorption and lighter weight make it the clear choice over composite.
Shaded or North-Facing Decks
Yards with mature trees or homes that face north stay damp for days after rain. PVC won't support the mold and algae growth that plagues wood decks in those conditions.
Coastal & High-Humidity Sites
Humidity, salt air, and persistent dampness can degrade wood-fiber composites over decades. Pure PVC has no organic content to break down — period.

PVC vs. Composite vs. Wood: How to Choose
All three material categories have a place in the right project. The honest short version: wood is cheapest upfront and most maintenance-heavy, composite balances cost and durability, and full PVC sits at the top of the price range but eliminates moisture concerns entirely. Where your deck sits — sun, shade, near a pool, over conditioned space — usually matters more than personal preference when choosing between them.
