Hampden Township Deck

A worn-out wood deck that had become unsafe, replaced in full — new framing, new stairs, composite decking, white vinyl railing and lighting.

About This Build

The wood deck off the back of this Hampden Township home was falling apart. The boards and railing had weathered grey, the stairs down to the yard were worn through, and the structure underneath was no longer something the homeowners could trust. Patching it wasn't an option — it needed to come out completely.

We removed the old deck and built a new one from the frame up: new pressure-treated framing on fresh footings, followed by TimberTech Natural White Oak composite decking run out from the house. A new set of stairs brings you down to the yard.

Railing is RDI white T-Top vinyl with black balusters, and the perimeter and stair risers are wrapped in white Azek woodgrain PVC trim so no framing lumber is left exposed. RDI post cap and stair riser lights finish it off, all run from a Bluetooth controller.

Finished

The completed deck — TimberTech Natural White Oak boards, RDI white vinyl railing with black balusters, and white Azek trim all the way around.

Before

The original wood deck — weathered boards, a worn stair run and a railing that had seen better days.

Framing

Old deck out, new pressure-treated framing in — squared and levelled before any boards go down.

Decking & Railing

TimberTech boards going down, then the RDI railing, Azek trim wrap and new stairs.
